5 Apps to Make Your Life Easier
Technology has its evils, but it makes our lives easier. You probably have your phone on you almost all the time, so why not put it to good use? I spend quite a lot of time with my phone, but I don’t have a single game installed. Instead, I try to use it for productive purposes!
Here are five of my favorite apps for making your life easier with minimal effort:
1- 7-Minute Workout
If you want to work out every day but have trouble finding the time, this is the app for you. It won’t replace an entire gym session, but it’s intense for such a short time. It’s definitely better than nothing and might help you build up to more. 7 minutes a day and you’ll be in much better shape. There are a few versions of this app available, so choose one that you like the look of. I use it first thing every morning as a great way to wake up.
2- Time Tune
This is a new one for me, as I only downloaded it a few days ago. So far, it looks amazing! It’s designed to help you create daily rituals and boost productivity. I’ve got a morning routine set up, plus a few different possibilities for daily routines.
This app (and matching website) aims to help teams manage projects. For solo productivity, some of the features will be irrelevant, but it’s still an amazing project management tool. My favorite feature is the project tracking graph. It shows how many tasks you’ve completed, compared to how many are left.
I LOVE this app. I’ve used it for years and recommend it to everyone. At its most basic, it’s a list-making app, but it has some impressively powerful features. You can create lists within lists for as long as you like. That means that a single list can actually contain thousands of items! It also has great hashtag and search functions. I use it to store all my Ph.D. notes, tagged by theme, source, assignment, and more. It makes organization and planning so easy!
5- Podcast Addict
If you want to be super-productive and do two things at once, you should try podcasts. They let you learn new information for free while you do something else. Try listening to podcasts while you work out, clean your house, or go for a walk. I listen to podcasts on my commute, so that it doesn’t feel like wasted time. There are a ton of podcast apps (most notably iTunes) but this is the one I use. It’s not feature-packed or fancy, but it does the job without any problems.
As a bonus suggestion, I want to recommend something called Ecosia. It’s not an app, it’s a search engine, designed as an alternative to Google. It won’t make your life easier – but they do plant trees with their ad revenue! Use it as your standard search engine and improve the world a little every time you search for something. They’ve planted over 7 million trees!
Have you tried these apps? What are your favorite tools for making your life easier using technology?
